Obama Lies about His Lies

Posted by

We’ve heard it literally hundreds of times “We will keep this promise to the American people: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like your healthcare plan, you will be able to keep your healthcare plan, period.”

From The Daily Caller:

“What we said was you could keep it if it hasn’t changed since the law was passed,” he told Obamacare’s political beneficiaries and contractors.

That claim is not supported by his videotaped statements, which don’t include any mention of his new “if it hasn’t changed” exception.

Thing is, insurance companies were mandated by the Federal Government to change their plans to include “Ten Essential Health Benefits“. So it was clear to the White House that people were going to loose their plans.

In fact, according to Forbes Magazine, Obama officials knew in 2010 that 93 Million Americans would be unable to keep their health plans under Obamacare, referencing the June 2010 Federal Register.

Obama’s whopper is way bigger than Clinton’s about having sex. Obama’s whopper significantly affects tens of millions of citizens.

10 Ways Obamacare Isn’t Working

From the Heritage Foundation:

Obamacare is an unworkable law.

It’s obvious because the Administration keeps trying to “fix” it—to no avail. It has delayed parts of the law, ignored others, and carved out exemptions for its political allies.

1. WAIVERS: The Administration established a legally questionable program of temporary waivers when firms announced they were considering dropping coverage rather than comply with the law’s costly requirements. Even though more than half of the recipients of these waivers were members of union plans, many union leaders are still not satisfied—they want another waiver, to receive taxpayer-funded subsidies for their employer-provided coverage.

2. ILLEGAL TAXPAYER SUBSIDIES FOR CONGRESS: Last month, following heavy lobbying from leaders in both parties—and an intervention from President Obama himself—the Administration issued a rule regarding coverage for Members of Congress and their staffs, who will retain their taxpayer-funded insurance subsidies in the exchanges. Unfortunately, as previous research has documented, the Administration had no legal basis on which to make this ruling. Read more »

“Affordable” Health Care Act? Sure…..

My husband and I have a ‘Health Savings Account’ which provides for ‘lower’ (not that low!) premiums with a very high deductible. Looks like that’s going away in October, as Regence has cautioned. We aren’t in the market for most of the ’10 essential health benefits’ as defined by the federal government, but we will pay for them anyway.

“Two years of Obamacare. Senate Democrats promised it would lower costs, lower premiums, cover everyone, and protect Medicare. Instead? Twice the cost, higher premiums, 23 million people left out, and $500 billion cut from Medicare. http://nrsc.org

A doctor’s view

Thanks Lee!

Dear Mr. President:

During my shift in the Emergency Room last night, I had the pleasure of evaluating a patient whose smile revealed an expensive shiny gold tooth, whose body was adorned with a wide assortment of elaborate and costly tattoos, who wore a very expensive brand of tennis shoes and who chatted on a new cellular telephone equipped with a popular R&B ring tone. While glancing over her patient chart, I happened to notice that her payer status was listed as “Medicaid”! During my examination of her, the patient informed me that she smokes more than one costly pack of cigarettes every day and somehow still has money to buy pretzels and beer. Read more »

Americans finally know why AARP approved of Obamacare

Posted by

The Alliance for Retirement Prosperity warned about this back in November:

Because of the way Medicare is structured, seniors have to purchase an insurance policy that fills the gap between what Medicare covers and what it doesn’t. Bigger gap, less coverage; less coverage, greater need to purchase Medicare Supplemental insurance; greater need for Medicare Supplemental Insurance, bigger AARP profits.

For years, AARP made a fortune selling Medigap insurance to fill in those gaps.  Then, Congress created Medicare Advantage, an alternative to the Medicare Supplemental Medigap policies sold by AARP.  That cut into AARP’s Medigap business.

If ObamaCare is allowed to undermine Medicare Advantage plans, as the Congressional Budget Office confirms it will, AARP stands to benefit enormously as seniors are forced to return in droves to purchase AARP’s Medigap Supplemental plans.
