Voter ID Laws are Alive and Well in Mexico

It always amazes me the way the left expresses outrage over the idea of voter identification with photo ID. They say it puts a burden on minorities and is discriminatory. In my opinion minorities are perfectly competent to be able to secure photo ID that is free to anyone who wants it.

Mexico has not seen many problems with its card, and national identity cards have been issued for years in France, Poland, Singapore, Brazil, to prove citizenship.

Thomas Sowell: How Republicans Can Win Black Votes

Thomas Sowell recently wrote an article in the National Review about how to reach out to black voters.  It’s not about entitlements (Democrats already do that). There are issues in which Republicans have an advantage over Democrats:

The issue on which Democrats are most vulnerable, and have the least room to maneuver, is school choice. Democrats are heavily in hock to the teachers’ unions, who see public schools as places to guarantee jobs for teachers, regardless of what that means for the education of students.

Most Americans want what is best for their kids, and charter schools and voucher programs have proven results. Because Democrats are beholden to teachers’ unions, they cannot defend school choice.

The minimum wage law is another problem that promotes black youth unemployment (but most people don’t see the correlation). Read more »

Why hasn’t this been covered in the Seattle Times or mainstream media?

Greenpeace co-founder: No scientific proof humans are dominant cause of warming climate. A co-founder of Greenpeace told lawmakers there is no evidence man is contributing to climate change, and said he left the group when it became more interested in politics than the environment. Read more »
