Updated– The IRS: Up close and personal

I first published this post about 18 months ago. It illustrates either incompetence or  the contempt that IRS employees have for taxpayers.  With all the focus on the IRS, I thought I’d bump it to the top.

An analysis by the Joint Economic Committee and the House Ways & Means Committee  staff estimates up to 16,500 new IRS personnel will be needed to collect, examine and audit new tax information mandated on families and small businesses as part of the implementation of Obamacare.

In addition to more complicated tax returns, families and small businesses will be forced to reveal further tax information to the IRS, provide proof of ‘government approved’ health care and submit detailed sales information to comply with new excise taxes.

If my recent experience with the IRS is any indication of its incompetence as a whole, we are in a world of hurt!

My father died last year. I filed his income tax in April of 2011, which had a refund due. In June, it occurred to me that no refund had been received, so here begins my adventure with the IRS.

Media Incest

Is this why mainstream media is so protective of the Obama administration? According to Newsbusters,

“CBS News President David Rhodes and ABC News President Ben Sherwood, both of them have siblings that not only work at the White House, that not only work for President Obama, but they work at the NSC on foreign policy issues directly related to Benghazi.”

Let’s also show you why CNN did not go very far in covering these hearings because the CNN deputy bureau chief, Virginia Moseley, is married to Hillary Clinton’s deputy, Tom Nides. It is time for the media to start asking questions why are they not covering this. It’s a family matter for some of them.”

Gun violence down, gun ownership up

Is there a correlation? Gun violence has dropped by 49 percent from 1993 to 2011, while nonfatal gun crimes dropped by 69 percent, according to the US Justice Department. According to a 2011 Gallup Poll, Self-Reported Gun Ownership in U.S. Is Highest Since 1993.
