Now That You’ve Awakened…Take Out Your Checkbook

Posted by

While liberals and progressives saw 2009 as the beginning of their messiah’s term in office and enjoyed more than ever the nanny-state they are living in, thousands of Conservatives and Constitutionalists in the Puget Sound area woke up in 2009 and realized our state and our country would soon be beyond rescuing if we didn’t do something. So we made intelligently worded signs mocking our current politicians and waved them at Tea Parties. We yelled in unison with other newly-awakened sleeping giants in Olympia, Seattle, Bellevue, and Everett, chanting “No new taxes!” and “You can keep the change!”

I’m not downplaying the significance and therapeutic benefits of Tea Parties, as it’s terrific that so many of my fellow citizens have awakened. But you have to admit it isn’t too difficult to participate in a Tea Party. When you stand around holding a sign and shouting with people you agree with, it can be both fun and fulfilling, but it’s also fairly easy. So I would like to persuade my fellow Tea Partiers, Conservatives, and Constitution-followers to do something more difficult. Read more »

Crime in Chicago

Posted by

It’s great to see how well the gun ban  is working in Chicago 😉 Taken from page 43 of the  McDonald v Chicago ruling:

Second, petitioners and many others who live in high crime areas dispute the proposition that the Second Amendment right does not protect minorities and those lacking political clout. The plight of Chicagoans living in high-crime areas was recently highlighted when two Illinois legislators representing Chicago districts called on the Governor to deploy the Illinois National Guard to patrol the City’s streets.31 The legislators noted that the number of Chicago homicide victims during the current year equaled the number of American soldiers killed during that same period in Afghanistan and Iraq and that 80% of the Chicago victims were black.32 Amici supporting incorporation of the right to keep and bear arms contend that the right is especially important for women and members of other groups that may be especially vulnerable to violent crime.33 If, as petitioners believe, their safety and the safety of other law-abiding members of the community would be enhanced by the possession of handguns in the home for self-defense, then the Second Amendment right protects the rights of minorities and other residents of high-crime areas whose needs are not being met by elected public officials.

I wonder how repealing the gun ban will affect those statistics.  Here is a little history of gun control.

McDonald v Chicago: 5-4

Posted by

As a person who has recently become familiar with our Constitution, I am puzzled that McDonald v Chicago got as far as the Supreme Court.  It follows the Heller Decision which held that the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution protects an individual’s right to possess a firearm for private use in federal enclaves, in this case, the District of Columbia.  The decision did not address the question of whether the Second Amendment extends beyond federal enclaves to the states.

Why is the right to bear arms even a question? Why is the obvious even being debated at the Supreme Court level? Does this mean that freedom of speech could be disputed as well? Read more »

Overwhelm the System

By Wayne Allyn Root:

Barrack Obama is no fool. He is not incompetent. To the contrary, he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he’s doing. He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos — thereby destroying capitalism and our country from within.

Barack Obama is my college classmate (Columbia University, class of ’83). As Glenn Beck correctly predicted from day one, Obama is following the plan of Cloward & Piven, two professors at Columbia University. They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands. Add up the clues below. Taken individually they’re alarming. Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival … and can be counted on to always vote for bigger government. Why not? They have no responsibility to pay  for it. Read more »

Obama giving Southwest back to Mexico

Posted by

These signs went up a couple weeks ago all along the southern side of I-8 between Casa Grande and Gila Bend. This is 80 miles north of the Mexican border and its now off limits to American citizens!!

Mexican Drug cartels now control large areas of Southern Arizona according to the Pinal County Sheriff.  Where are Congress and DHS in this new Mexican-American war that we seem to be losing?

I called US Public lands information (623-580-5500) to confirm.

So, our government has surrendered and ceded part of Arizona to the smugglers and cartels of Mexico. What do you think would happen if signs like this were to be found back East? But this is just backwater, flyover AZ so it doesn’t count to the media and Congress.

A Young Woman’s Life in Venezuela

Posted by

http://www.redistributingknowledge.blogspot.com/

There is a young woman in Venezuela who blogs about what is really happening inside Venezuela under Hugo Chavez’ dictatorship, The end of Venezuela as I know it. As you read her posts, you wonder, how could there be any Americans that support him or his government? How is it that our own President stood shoulder to shoulder with Chavez in demonizing Honduras when they followed their Constitution and kicked out a guy who was trying to become a Chavez-like dictator?

I am going to repost one of her posts in particular because it is a fair warning about the path down which many of those in power would like to take us. And, in light of Obama’s guaranteed push for Cap-and-Tax tonight in his speech, this is highly relevant. In this post, Julia writes about how miserable life is when the government gets to shut off your water and fines you for using too much electricity.

And if you think that can’t happen here, then answer this question: why does Fannie Mae, the mortgage company, own patents on cap-and-trade technology? Why has the Obama administration spent the last few months fighting Freedom of Information Requests aimed at Fannie Mae and their finances, considering they are a root cause of the housing crisis, and we are on the hook for billions of dollars to bail them out? Oil Spill Response

A letter from Rev. Perryman

Dear Friends:

After hearing Obama’s Speech, have we learned anything new?  Before I start my response, let me say again for the record, that Obama did not cause the oil spill, nor can he stop the leak.  It is unfortunate that it happened on his watch.  But he can’t blame Bush for this nor can he ever complain about the federal government’s reaction to Katrina being too slow.

When you review what has taken place during the past 58 days, we learn the following:

 1.  A few weeks ago while playing golf, Obama claimed that there was no need to sit down and talk to the CEO of BP because it is the board that makes all the decisions.  He makes this statement even though he has met with over 500 CEO’s since he has been president to help him deal with the financial crisis and health care reform.  Today he finally met with the BP executives which he had stated before, “would be a waste of time, because he was looking for someone’s ‘Ass’ to “kick.” Read more »
