As a liberal who became conservative, Ronald Reagan said:

You and I are told we must choose between a left or right, but I suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There is only an up or down. Up to man’s age-old dream — the maximum of individual freedom consistent with order — or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism. Regardless of their sincerity, their humanitarian motives, those who would sacrifice freedom for security have embarked on this downward path. Plutarch warned, “The real destroyer of the liberties of the people is he who spreads among them bounties, donations and benefits.”

Those Greedy Insurance Companies….

Posted by

From hotair:
“While Democrats in Congress have spent months demonizing insurers as greedy villainous monsters, from Barack Obama to Nancy Pelosi to Alan Grayson, the American media stood mute rather than report on the extent of this supposed greed. Why? It’s not as if these companies don’t have annual reports, or that business media haven’t tracked their performance. The publicly-traded companies have their bottom lines exposed for all to see, and yet the media has steadfastly whistled and looked askance rather than inform people about the extent of their demonic, villainous, greedy, filthy lucre.”

According to the AP, “Profits barely exceeded 2 percent of revenues in the latest annual measure. ”

Seattle school system is top heavy with unjustifiable admin costs

Posted by

Next time there’s another levy to fund the Seattle Public Schools, think twice before voting.

Check out this article. I haven’t seen it in the Seattle Times, yet.

Seattle Public Schools spends three times more on non-teaching support staff and administration than shown in the budgets presented to the School Board, according to a study by a former business analyst — who also is a school district parent.

The report stated “The lack of consistency between the budgets presented to the board and public and the budgets filed with [the Superintendent of Public Instruction] masks excessive growth in central administration.”

In addition,
1) “Central administration FTEs (full-time employees) have increased 48 percent since 1998. Enrollment in the same period has declined 7.5 percent

2)  “Central administration cost growth is 96 percent in the last decade, well out of line with growth in the overall operating budget and other budget sectors.

Did Obama ‘Lie’?

Posted by

Healthcare for illegal immigrants (which number 9.4 million according to the 2007 census) costs taxpayers a bundle. Related information can be found here and here.

President Obama has repeatedly claimed that the healthcare bill would not cover illegal aliens. However, nowhere in the bill does it provide for ‘verification’ of citizenship. Several amendments have been proposed (by Republicans) to prevent healthcare benefits to illegal aliens by requiring verification. The Deal amendment was narrowly defeated (29-28). Jay Inslee voted ‘no’ and he needs to be voted OUT of office!

Parkland Hospital Statistics

Posted by

Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas is a fairly famous institution and for a variety of reasons:

1. John F. Kennedy died there in 1963
2. Lee Harvey Oswald died there shortly after
3. Jack Ruby-who killed Lee Harvey Oswald, died there a few years later..by coincidence

On the flip side, Parkland is also home to the second busiest maternity ward in the country with almost 16,000 new babies arriving each year. (That’s almost 44 per day—every day)

A recent patient survey indicated that 70 percent of the women who gave birth at Parkland in the first three months of 2006 were illegal immigrants. That’s 11,200 anchor babies born every year just in Dallas.

According to the article, the hospital spent $70.7 million delivering 15,938 babies in 2004 but managed to end up with almost $8 million dollars in surplus funding. Medicaid kicked in $34.5 million, Dallas County taxpayers kicked in $31.3 million and the feds tossed in another $9.5 million. Read more »

Should Obama and the Democrats be Prosecuted for Fraud?

Posted by

Rev. Wayne Perryman raises a good question:

If an official of the law has knowledge that a fraud is being committed and he or she refuses to stop the fraudulent act, are they an accessory of the crime?

Democrats claim that they will cut $500 billion dollars of abuse and fraud from the Medicare program with their new Health Care Reform Legislation.  This statement implies that:

1. They know that fraud is being committed,
2.  How it is being committed
3.  And the degree of fraud and waste – in terms of dollars is involved.

When a billion dollar crime is being committed and law officials know that the crime being committed but refuse to stop, apprehend or assist with the prosecution of the crime, they are, according to law, an “Accessory After the Fact” and should be prosecutor along with those who committed the crime.

Prosecutors should be asking Obama and the Democrats the following questions: How long have they known about this fraud?  Specifically, who is committing this fraud?  Was it through their own investigation that they determined that the degree fraud and waste amounted to $500 billion?  How long was their investigation?  Why haven’t they acted on this fraud? Thurston County Man Dies After Getting Swine Flu

The following text is included in the article:

“The man’s death has not yet been confirmed the result of the H1N1 virus, also known as swine flu. H1N1 test results from the state Department of Health will likely be available early this week.”

I wrote about this in September when King 5 news reported that there were 2,000  cases of Swine Flu at WSU (when in fact there were 50 cases of flu, none of which were confirmed to be Swine). What is disturbing from ex-Congressman Dick Armey (Tex):

”In September or October there will be a hyped up outbreak of the swine flu which they’ll say is as bad as the bubonic plague to scare the bed-wetters to vote for healthcare reform,” said Mr Armey. “That is the only way they can push something on to the American people that the American people don’t want.”
