Wounded Warriors Project

I received this email today:

On  Monday, I played the Disney, Lake Buena Vista  course.  As usual the starters matched me with three other players.  After a few holes we began  to get to know each other a bit.  One fellow was rather young and had his  wife riding along in the golf cart with him.  I noticed that his golf bag had his name on it and after closer inspection, it  also said “wounded war veterans”.  When I had my first chance to chat with him I asked him about the bag.  His response was simply that it was a gift.  I then asked if he was wounded and he said yes.  When I asked more about his injury, his response was “I’d rather not talk about it, sir”. This is a trailer for a full-length feature documentary about a program to honor WWII vets.

 The documentary is due to be released in November of this year. It is worth a couple of minutes to view this.

 They are trying to get 50,000 views before Memorial Day. You need to view the whole thing to be counted. (Only 2 minutes.)

Rights – where do they come from?

The Constitution states “For we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights” including life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Our founders identified the common denominator among all mankind, which remains true over time. We don’t get our rights from government, but rather from God/nature. Edmonds councilmember Michael Plunkett wrote a great essay about this in the Edmonds Beacon.
