Richmond Beach: Woodway’s mud room
In the ongoing free-for-all for Pt. Wells tax revenues, Woodway pitches smaller plan for Point Wells.
This intimidating sign is posted just outside a short hallway near the restrooms on the first floor of the City of Shoreline’s City Hall at 175th and Midvale. The hallway leads to a rather unassuming conference room where most of the City Council’s ‘dinner meetings’ are held. It is a typical conference room with a big table, seating perhaps 16, and a few side chairs along the walls. These meetings are informal affairs, where actual conversations take place and genuine ideas are born. And yet, despite the insinuation of this sign’s message, dinner meetings (with a few exceptions) are open to the public. Read more »
Stunt your growth management
First they will stack and pack us in mixed use towers in Town Center, all in the name of the Agenda 21 euphemism, Growth Management. Only after that mission is accomplished will they proceed to trot out the ‘research’ on the effects of second-hand smoke in apartment buildings, which they will use to justify an ordinance for ‘tobacco-free high-density housing’. Obama Calls for Caucus Turnout

The Democratic Precinct Caucuses are being held today at 1:00pm. In Shoreline, precincts west of I-5 will convene at Meridian Park Elementary School, those east of I-5 at Shorecrest High School. They expect a 75% lower turnout than they had in 2008.
Two things most Republicans would never do:
- Hold their Caucuses on a Sunday.
- Hold their Caucuses on the weekend before Tax Day.
Two things most Democrats would never do:
- Hold their Caucuses in a church.
- Worry about income taxes.
Former US Senator Slade Gorton raised an interesting question last week about the impact of openness in government on the historical record, particularly for the Presidency. Sen. Gorton was a guest speaker last Saturday at the Washington Coalition for Open Government’s Open Government Sunshine Week Conference in Seattle, a celebration of both the 40th anniversary of the Public Disclosure Act and the 41st anniversary of the Open Public Meetings Act).
Defending Point Wells
Scenes like this are what you can find today just 2 miles from Shoreline’s Town Center. Are you sure you want to trade these for the resort package Jay is bringing down the aisle?
Now is no time to be pragmatic.
Support the presidential candidate you believe in, though the heavens fall.
