Welcome to the Presidential Debates!

Posted by

The Shoreline Caucus held a straw poll at February’s meeting, and some members replied to news of the results with notes of strong concern that those voting in the straw poll didn’t see it their way, the majority voting instead for Rick Santorum.

This gave us an idea – we would like to host a virtual debate for the presidential nominee.  Simply write a paper, 650 words or less, and submit it to the Shoreline Caucus at “debate@shorelinecaucus.com“.  We will post your papers by category “President Candidates” (see left side panel), and you can express your views for all the world to see.   This is especially important in advance of the Precinct Caucuses coming up in two weeks on March 3rd, because we will be electing delegates at those caucuses, some of whom will ultimately end up at the national convention voting for the party’s presidential nominee.

  • Papers limited to 650 words or less (one typewritten page).
  • Focus on the reasons for your candidate, not negatives about the other candidates.
  • Commentary about the other candidates is allowed, but should be factual and included only for the       purpose of differentiating your candidate.
  • The Shoreline Caucus reserves the right to publish or exclude papers at its sole discretion.  Papers may be excluded if they contain defamatory content about candidates, inflammatory content about candidates or issues, or swearing.  Otherwise, papers will be published if they clearly explain why the preferred candidate would be the best leader for our country.
  • Please submit papers in Word 2007 format or before, or plain text.

Others will be submitting letters extolling the virtues of their preferred candidate, so don’t let your candidate be left out – submit your paper today and help others understand why they should support your preferred candidate.

To add some spice to the mix, we’re going to add a comments section so people can comment on your logic.  Remember, please keep all comments polite and professional.

If you want to see the list of posts for ‘Presidential Candidates’ select that category from the left side panel.
