Has the tea party movement lost its fervor?  During the 2010 election, tea party members changed the outcome of elections across the country, sending a group of conservatives to Congress, and electing governors and state legislators nationwide.  There was no doubt that the voice of the people was being heard, and it looked as if the citizens would once again have an influence in the government of this country.

The precinct caucuses are where democracy begins.  There will be no presidential primary in Washington State this cycle, so the caucus process is our only way to voice our desire for who our presidential candidate should be.  Further, the delegates to the Republican national convention start here – even if you don’t plan to go to the national convention, wouldn’t you like to have a say in who does go to represent our state?

At the precinct caucuses, your vote counts heavily.  Also, there will be a straw poll at the caucuses which may get national attention, coming as it does prior to Super Tuesday.

And, we’re going to hold our own straw poll at the meeting, so come let us know who you prefer as our presidential candidate.  Let’s get active and engaged through the rest of this election cycle, and make sure that 2012 exceeds what we accomplished in 2010!
