July 20th Meeting
Dino Rossi will be the speaker at the next Shoreline Caucus meeting! This is your chance to talk with Dino, hear his goals for our state and our country, and get to know the man who in a few short months may well be our state’s next US Senator. Dino may get there a bit early, so be sure to come for our 6:30 coffee & refreshments time and mingle with Dino and others before the meeting starts at 7.
Obama vowed to “transform our country”, and in the relatively short time since the beginning of his administration, the Senate and House have supported him in changing this country in ways most of us never imagined we would see in America. If ever there was an election which represented a turning point in American history, this is it – if voters allow “business as usual” to continue, then by 2012 we may not recognize the country we live in. If, instead, we are motivated, informed and active, we have a real chance to take our country back from those who are working hard to transform America into a European-style dependency society.
Unquestionably, the single most important step we can take in an off-year election is to retake the majority in the Senate and the House. A hard look at Senate races around the country indicates that if we can replace Patty Murray, we may be able to take the 51st seat in the Senate and retake the majority there. It is vital that we make this happen!
